It
is helpful to other racers, and sanctioning organizations, to read suggestions on how to improve the safety of the particular
racing-conditions. There are two general ways to improve safety: INTERNAL
and EXTERNAL. INTERNAL ways deal
with the equipment utilized, the event and emergency facilities, equipment used for spectator control, and the location(s)
of the event,. EXTERNAL ways involve 1: personnel such as participants, spectators,
sponsors, event and emergency staff, and 2: selection, installation, & maintenance of equipment used at the event, and
3: the weather conditions.
Dr. John (webmaster)
calls the Internal ways of improving safety the INs of safety. The External
ways to improve safety are called the OUTs. This site welcomes your contributions
to both the INs and OUTs. PLEASE DO NOT NAME ANY SPONSORING or SANCTIONING ORGANIZATION.
The purpose of this website is to improve racing safety via stories and opinions, not
to cast blame. With respect to personnel, please don’t resort to “Name Calling”.
As Jack Web used to say on TV’s Dragnet™, “JUST THE FACTS MAAM”.
Personal discussions about Sponsoring or Sanctioning Organizations and/or personnel should be reserved
for Private Communications. Many Sponsoring or Sanctioning Organizations can
be directly contacted via one of our links on the Link for Personnal Communications
page.
